How Often Should You Have Your Carpets Professionally Cleaned?

After 25 years of cleaning Okanagan carpets, we've learned that 'how often' isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. The right frequency depends on your home's specific traffic, the people and pets who live there, and the kind of carpet underfoot.
For most households, we recommend a professional clean every 12 to 18 months. If you have pets, kids, or run a busy entryway near the lake, bump that to every 6 to 9 months. Allergies in the home? Twice a year is the sweet spot.
Vacuuming is essential between cleans, but it only addresses the surface. Embedded soil — the gritty stuff that wears down fibers from below — needs hot water extraction to lift out properly. That's what our truck-mounted system does, and it's why your carpets feel different after a real clean.
The biggest mistake we see? Waiting until carpets look dirty. By then, the damage to the fibers is already done. Regular cleaning is preventative care — it extends carpet life by years.
